Norma Flores

Norma Velasco Flores is an Advanced Practice Provider at Medstar Heart and Vascular Institute (MHVI) Transitions Clinic, where she manages heart failure and ACS patients with the goal of reducing 30-day readmission rates. In addition to providing high-quality post-discharge care, her clinic served as a “gateway” in the early diagnosis of infiltrative, inflammatory or genetic cardiomyopathies where diagnostic work-up are continued with subsequent referral to sub-specialties. She also manages patients at MHVI Cardiology Nurse Practitioner Clinic and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Clinic. Prior to that, she was a nurse practitioner at the Johns Hopkins HCM Center of Excellence. She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degrees at University of Maryland in Baltimore.
